EdStat: $18 Billion annually is Used on Professional Development for U.S. Teachers
April 27, 2019Even though we spend $18 billion yearly on professional development for teachers in the us, teachers usually don’t are able to pick their own individual programs. Instead, professional-development services are purchased by schools and districts. This investment might not be leading to better student outcomes, though. In accordance with the New Teacher Project, “despite enormous and admirable investments of one’s and money… most teachers we studied usually do not seem like improving substantially from year upon year.” From a column for the Fall 2018 issue, Michael B.
