West County teens can tap resources, advice at Hercules Library summer jobs fair Tuesday
April 27, 2019West County teens will get information on the right way to try to find jobs, interview to them and what is expected if they are hired in the summer jobs fair at Hercules Library,?109 Civic Dr., on Tuesday, April 28.
The Hercules Library Teen Job Fair, which runs from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., will connect teens with local pros who can grant them a jump start at work searching process. The big event may also help teens identify volunteer opportunities and internships.
Denise Clarke of the Contra Costa County Office of Education will detail countywide resources, including internships through Kaiser-Permanente, Laney College and STEM Camps.
Local H.R. guru Myrtle Dawana will teach kids the way to turn volunteer experience and limited work experience into a more complete employment application.
Local sales expert Bob Polacchi are able to offer guidance in selling yourself inside employment interview.
Teresa Gonzalez, a vocational transitional specialist on the West Contra Costa Unified School District, will talk about the whole process of obtaining a visa in the school district.
Additionally, Joseph Wong of McDonald’s can tell you on-the-job expectations after a worker continues to be hired.
