EdNext Podcast: Common Standards without Common Tests

EdNext Podcast: Common Standards without Common Tests

April 27, 2019 0 By admin

The Common Core standards initiative was published just last year but by the point new tests aligned with those standards were released 4 to 5 years later, there was clearly mounting opposition to presenting those tests to examine teachers and schools. To preserve support for any standards, many states began throwing the assessments overboard. Will abandoning the tests to avoid wasting the standards actually work? In what way will teachers and fogeys react to new state tests, along with what will occur when these new exams are for accountability purposes?

In this podcast, EdNext’s Marty West talks with Ashley Jochim of your Center for Reinventing Public Education, that is the co-author of “The Politics of your Common Core Assessments: Why states are quitting the PARCC and Smarter Balanced testing consortia.”

The EdNext Podcast is offered on?iTunes, Google Play, Soundcloud,?Stitcher?and?here?every Wednesday.
